CHICAGO, USA - The announcement in February to build a new factory in Taiwan confirmed SRAM's commitment to their largest production base. With the investment, SRAM is expanding its capabilities and capacity in Taichung. A week before the opening of the Taipei Cycle Show, SRAM CEO Ken Lousberg elaborates on their choice for Taiwan and his market outlook for the months ahead.

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Taiwan's bicycle industry is eager to show itself to the outside world again at the Taipei International Cycle Show. After an absence of 3 years one of the leading industry events is opening its doors again tomorrow morning. The industry is facing some interesting challenges which have become pressing over the past few years; now is the time to discuss these face to face.

German e-bike market performed strong in 2022

BERLIN, Germany - The German e-bike and bicycle market performed very strong in 2022 with a 10% increase in e-bike sales the national industry organisation, ZIV has reported. Perhaps sales could have been much higher as ZIV CEO Burkhard Stork refers to a "general reluctance of consumers to buy in the second half of the year."

Vestel steps up e-bike battery production

IZMIR, Turkey - The production of batteries for e-bikes and electric vehicles have become one of the core new business developments categories for electronics giant Vestel. VILLARROBLEDO, Spain - Berria Bikes has reaffirmed its ambitious international expansion plans with the introduction of Suma Capital as a minority shareholder. Cyclingworld Düsseldorf finds the right concept with boutique show

DÜSSELDORF, Germany - The fifth edition of Cyclingworld proved that the organisation has found a successful concept to attract consumers to visit a bicycle show again. In two days and one evening, some 23,000 people attended the event, an increase of 30% compared to the last edition in 2019.

Denmark sees upswing in local e-bike production and sales

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – The ample availability of bicycles and e-bikes resulted in increased sales in Denmark in 2022, just like in many other EU countries. The January-August 2022 figures of supplies clearly show an upswing in the market, but don’t give any indication of the market outlook.

European Commission starts work on carbon footprint rules for...

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission has started the discussion on the future methodology of carbon footprint rules for batteries. The new Battery Regulation foresees that all electric vehicles, including e-bikes need to have a carbon footprint declaration.
