Polestar steps up from e-cars to e-bikes

GÖTENBORG, Sweden - The Swedish car manufacturer Polestar is the next to step into the rapidly growing e-bike market. This announcement by Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath didn't come as a surprise as the company has been cooperating with Allebike on a regular bicycle since earlier this year.

RockShox shocks stolen during targeted theft, reports AT Zweirad

ALTENBERGHE, Germany - Today bicycle and e-bike manufacturer AT Zweirad reports that on 28 October this year high-end components for their Velo de Ville branded bikes were stolen. About 600 RockShox shocks in addition to some Gates pulleys were taken.

E-bikes now account for 10% of global bicycle sales

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Global bicycle sales in 2021 reached 96 million units, while the booming pedal-assisted e-bike sales are estimated at 9.7 million units. This was reported by the World Bicycle Industry Association (WBIA) in their first-ever WBIA Global Market Report.

GENT, Belgium - Trade association LEVA-EU argues that the lack of knowledge and ignorance of the bike and e-bike anti-dumping regulations by custom's authorities in various European countries, has become a big hinderance in the development of the e-bike industry in Europe.

Classified Cycling raises millions from UK investors to expand into...

ANTWERP, Belgium - Classified Cycling has announced a €22 million funding round led by Active Partners, known in the industry as, former investors in Rapha and Evans Cycles. Existing investor Bridford Investments Limited continues to support Classified by participating in the round. Classified Cycling aims to expand into the e-bike market.

Fatbike importers warned for selling illegal e-bikes

THE HAGUE, the Netherlands - 27 internet resellers have been warned by the Dutch transport authorities to stop offering their fatbikes. Research showed that they offer e-bikes that go faster than 25 km per hour and/or have a higher power than 250 watt without approval. Such e-bikes must have a type approval.

Shimano studies shows cost of living driving e-bike use

EINDHOVEN, the Netherlands - The fourth edition of Shimano's state-of-the-nation, makes clear that the growing cost of living is perceived as the most important reason to ride an e-bike.
