Industry organisations expect difficult market in 2023

BRUSSELS, Belgium - "The energy crisis and a challenging geopolitical situation will make 2023 a difficult year for the bicycle industry," said Erhard Büchel as president of WBIA (World Bicycle Industry Alliance). "However, we see tremendous interest in cycling and that will not disappear. I am therefore very optimistic about the prospects of the bicycle industry."

Bosch invests in e-bike component production in Portugal

BRAGA, Portugal - Bosch has announced that it will start to extend its R&D and production capacities in existing Portuguese facilities in Ovar and Braga. According to Portuguese media reports, the project involves a total investment of €6.5 million.

Pon.Bike subsidiary Urban Arrow takes lead in EU cargobike standard

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands - In close cooperation with the Netherlands Standardization Institute (NEN), Pon.Bike subsidiary Urban Arrow has taken the lead to develop seven standards for cargobikes. David Zimberoff changes SRAM for World Bicycle Relief

Renault Trucks to assemble and distribute e-cargo bikes

LYON, France - To accelerate the production and distribution of the Kleuster Freegônes e-cargo bikes, the company partnered with Renault Trucks. Hyena to introduce upgraded E-Road drive

TAICHUNG, Taiwan - The e-drive supplier Hyena will soon introduce the upgraded E-Road drive system unit with a ISIS torque sensor, and the range extender compatibility, while a new HMI will follow later. The Taichung based company expects to supply the system initially to some of its long-term partners for their MY 2024/25 e-bikes.
