Gravaa appoints new chief commercial officer

EINDHOVEN, the Netherlands - Adaptable tyre pressure technology firm Gravaa has ap-pointed John Zopfi as its new chief commercial officer. With more than 20 years of experi-ence in outdoor and cycling industries, Zopfi took up the role earlier this month after spend-ing the past six years at 7mesh Industries where he most recently served as general manager for global wholesale.

hGears' e-bike business segment suffers from sluggish destocking

SCHAMBERG, Germany - High-precision transmission parts and components manufacturer hGears AG continues to suffer not only from the automotive crisis, but also from the e-bike business segment's sluggish destocking. In the first nine months of the current 2024 financial year, it had to digest its biggest sales drop.

Fox Factory's long suffering bicycle products bounce back in Q3

DULUTH, USA - It's not only the inclusion of recently acquired Marucci Sports' revenue boosting up suspension expert Fox Factory Holding Corp.'s Sports Specialty Sports Group (SSG) third quarter sales. SSG's bicycle product sales under the Easton Cycling, Fox, Marzocchi, Race Face, Ride Concepts brand names are also impressively bouncing back.

Shimano Q3 report shows delay in recovery of component market

OSAKA, Japan - Market recovery hasn't come as rapidly as Shimano had still foreseen in its first half year results published in July. The Q3 results the company published today still reveal challenging market conditions which the Japanese component manufacturer partly attributes to unfavorable weather conditions in Europe during spring, as well as the inventory bubble.

Tenneco sells suspension expert Öhlins Racing to Brembo

UPPLANDS VÄSBY, Sweden - With the complete takeover of Swedish suspension specialist Öhlins Racing AB, Italian brake expert Brembo is making the largest acquisition in the company's history, according to its own statements. Öhlins had been part of US automotive supplier Tenneco Inc. since the end of 2018. Subject to the usual regulatory approvals, the takeover, which was announced on 11 October, is expected to be completed by the beginning of 2025.

TAICHUNG, Taiwan - Renowned Taiwanese bicycle component manufacturer Glory Wheel Enterprise Co., Ltd. (GW) has acquired the bicycle accessory brands, Spank Industries and Fratelli Industries. Through the acquisition the Taiwanese aims to reinforce its position in the high-end bicycle components market. Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Bosch u-turns on ABS interoperability

MILAN, Italy - Last Autumn concerns were raised by ABS manufacturer, Blubrake that Bosch could restrict competition in the e-bike ABS market by limiting the use of alternative technologies. A case opened by the Italian Antitrust Authority has now determined that e-bike manufacturers will now be permitted to integrate Blubrake ABS with Bosch BES3 kits.

E-bike component manufacturer hGears expects medium-term growth

SCHRAMBERG, Germany - When presenting its 2024 half-year figures, the high-precision gearbox parts and components manufacturer hGears AG took a cautious view of the financial year. Looking further ahead, the stock-listed company sees strong growth again in the medium term 'particularly in the e-bike and e-mobility business areas'.
