Denver to host first US e-bike trade show

DENVER, USA - In June 2023 the inaugural edition of the first US e-bike trade show is scheduled to take place in the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Now sales of e-bikes have finally picked-up as well, the market is ready for an e-bike focused event.

Eurobike makes successful start in Frankfurt

FRANKFURT, Germany - The start of the new Eurobike concept and relocation to the city of Frankfurt am Main was probably an even bigger success than expected by Fairnamics, the new organiser of Eurobike. While the industry rides the high waves of the cycling boom and many voiced their appreciation over the new show location, a lot of industry insiders also expressed worries due to battery shortages.

Portuguese industry reports hiking export levels

AGUEDA, Portugal - The joint booth of the Portuguese bicycle industry at Eurobike last week reflected the positive vibe of the country's industry. A prototype on display was entirely built with high-end components, which except for the tyres were all 'made in Portugal'. At the same time, ABIMOTA, announced a record export level for May.

Taichung Bike Week announces 2022 dates

TAICHUNG, Taiwan - Ahead of the lifting of the COVID-related entry restrictions by the Taiwanese authorities, the organisers of Taichung Bike Week announced that the industry event will take place again this September.

German e-bike sales stable this year after record levels in 2021

FRANKFURT, German - In the first half of 2022 e-bike and bicycle sales in Germany nearly matched the record levels of 2021. Despite inflation, supply chain problems and the war in Ukraine, the German industry association ZIV is very content with the first half results. "However a recent development of the past few weeks is that we see a depressed consumer demand," said ZIV MD Burkhard Stork today at the industry discussion ahead of the opening of Eurobike.

Bosch launches new e-bike ABS system which is available this summer

REUTLINGEN, Germany - The launch of Bosch's new ABS system for e-bikes has been long awaited. Incorrect braking is seen as one of the main causes of accidents. "The front wheel brake on a bicycle is crucial for a short braking distance," says Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems. The new Bosch e-bike ABS with brake components from Magura will be available from this summer.
