BRUSSELS, Belgium - Despite the supply chain problems, all signs are still on green for the bicycle industry. The industry confederation CONEBI, reports record sales levels for e-bike and bicycles in their annual European Bicycle Industry and Market Profile.

Äike starts renewable e-scooter production in Estonia

TALLINN, Estonia - The co-founder of IoT provider Comodule, Kristjan Maruste is the CEO of the newly founded sustainable e-scooter startup Äike. In partnership both companies developed the first model Äike T e-scooter with the aim to manufacture and assemble it entirely in Europe using solely renewable energy.

BIG FLATS, USA NY - Stan and Cindy Koziatek, co-founders of Stan's NoTubes and creators of the original tubeless tire sealant for bicycles, have announced their retirement from the business. Longtime partner in the brand's growth, Mike Bush, will continue as president and CEO, with support from Stan's NoTubes' new partners, Zabel Companies.

New ruling in the Netherlands enforces e-bike battery recycling

ZOETERMEER, the Netherlands - Manufacturers and importers of e-bike batteries are now obliged to contribute to the collection and processing system for bicycle batteries. More than 150 companies which are members of the EPAC Foundation already meet these requirements. Since 1 July 2022 these conditions are generally binding.
