Schrader is the inventor of the bicycle valve and the leading global manufacturer of tyre pressure monitoring systems for automobiles, heavy vehicles and motorcycles. The company is a pioneer in TPMS, a vehicle safety feature that is now standard on all passenger cars and light trucks sold in the US, EU and China.

Schrader’s TPMS technology can be found in over 50% of global OEM vehicle platforms. Schrader is launching its first bike and e-bike TPMS brand AIRsistant at Eurobike 2022 in July. The innovative Bluetooth Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) AIRsistant for bikes and e-bikes monitors the pressure and temperature of the bicycle tyres, leading to a safer ride for Trekking, City, Mountain and Cargo bikes.

Ride safe, ride better

Lightweight and durable tyre pressure sensors mounted on the tyre valve monitor the air pressure and the temperature of the bicycle tyres and transmit real-time data via Bluetooth low energy technology to the existing bicycle display, a compatible bike computer or a mobile APP (iOS or Android). The tyre pressure is displayed when riding begins and can be easily adjusted using the digital pressure gauge function.

The pressure changes are visible in the display or in the mobile APP while the tyres are being inflated with the help of a simple bicycle pump. Riding with the optimal tyre pressure leads to more riding comfort, extended battery range and better handling. If the actual pressure deviates from the optimal pressure, the biker is warned via notification on the bike display or mobile APP. Timely warnings of punctures or air leaks contribute to a safer ride and increased lifespan of bicycle tyres and rims.

Benefits

What are the AIRsistant benefits? Safer ride due to real-time tyre pressure monitoring with timely warnings, effective puncture protection, increased riding comfort, extended battery range and better handling, savings from less tyre and rim damages resulting in longer tyre and rim lifespan, new and user-friendly connection opportunities due to direct integration in bike display/HMI and the mobile APP and digital tyre gauge function for easy pressure adjustment serves as a great alternative to tyre fill measuring equipment.

Mobile app

AIRsistant mobile application is free of charge for the sensor users and will be available in App Store (for IOS) and Google Play Store (for This Android) in June 2022. The user-friendly mobile application offers the following benefits:

  • Real-time tyre pressure
  • Pressure calculator allowing you to calculate optimal pressure for your bike
  • Customised and user-friendly menu
  • Navigation and route tracking
  • The system will also be available on Garmin IQ connect and compatible with multiple Garmin devices.
