KYIV, Ukraine - The war in the Ukraine has become very close and personal for Paul Lange Group with the tragic loss of an employee from Paul Lange Ukraine. The 54 year old Shimano sales manager Maksym Andrushenko died on 17 October while serving his country.

The invasion of the Ukraine by the Russian armed forces last February shocked Ukrainians and the whole civilized world. “Maksym Andrushenko, Shimano sales manager of Paul Lange Ukraine, learned about the war during his holidays with his family in the Ukrainian mountains. After the first weeks Maksym Andrushenko came back to Kyiv which was partly surrounded by the Russian army,” the Paul Lange Group wrote in a statement this week.

16 years at Paul Lange Ukraine

He voluntarily joined the ranks of Kyiv’s territorial defence forces who successfully defended the capital of the country what ultimately led to the retreat of Russian troops from the Kyiv region. On the 5th of October, his unit was sent to one of the hottest regions of the Ukraine, the southeast. 12 days later, on the 17th of October, it was reported that their group came under enemy fire. Sadly, Maksym Andrushenko passed away during this attack.

Maksym Andrushenko has been working at Paul Lange Ukraine for 16 years from day the company was founded. “His hard work, initiative and organisation were a strong driving force for the development of Shimano parts in the Ukraine,” the Paul Lange Group reports. “His contribution to the success of the company can’t be overestimated. This is a huge loss for the entire team of Paul Lange Ukraine and the Paul Lange Group.”

“Our sincere condolences go to Maksym Andrushenko’s wife Victoria and his daughter Kateryna. His death in the defence of his motherland shows us, which price the Ukrainian people pay each day in the fight against the Russian invaders.”
