Norwegian company reTyre welcomes new CCO and showcases its rubber-free tyres at Taipei Cycle
Newly appointed CCO Ben Evans is very much looking forward to reTyre’s participation at Taipei Cycle.

As the cycling industry gathers in Taipei for the much-anticipated Taipei Cycle 2024, the Norwegian company is bringing updated models of the rubber-free tyres launched at Eurobike 23.

At the heart of reTyre’s showcase this year is its groundbreaking development in rubber-free, reusable tyres. This technology is not only breaking the boundaries set in traditional tyre manufacturing norms but also aligns with the global demand for more sustainable and eco-friendly cycling solutions. The company's leap into mass production signals a significant shift in the industry, offering a solution for bike brands to reduce their CO2 emissions without sacrificing performance.

In late 2023, tyre manufaturer welcomed industry veteran Ben Evans as the new CCO of the company. Being a father of small children, Evans is driven by the desire to contribute to a brighter, more sustainable future. He sees his role at reTyre not just as a professional milestone, but as a personal commitment to advancing eco-friendly innovations in the sport he loves.

“Our rubber-free tyres go beyond innovation; they represent a crucial step towards a more sustainable future. By not relying on traditional rubber and embracing bio-based, reusable materials, we are not only drastically cutting down CO2 emissions but paving the way for substantial performance advancements.” says Evans.

“Since the 19th century, vulcanised rubber has been the cornerstone of pneumatic tyre production, with incremental improvements in performance characteristics over time. However, every material has its limitations. With our groundbreaking manufacturing process we move away from rubber and into a new era for materials poised to raise the bar for performance across all categories. It’s an exciting time to be part of reTyre, and we are really looking forward to Taipei Cycle 2024.”

His extensive experience within the cycling industry and his forward-thinking mindset aligns very well with reTyre as we continue to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability," said Amundsen.

The company's participation in Taipei Cycle 2024 is not just a showcase of its latest products but a call to action for the cycling community to embrace more sustainable practices. As attendees explore the exhibition, reTyre is inviting everyone to experience firsthand the difference rubber-free tyres can make in reducing our environmental footprint while not compromising the riding experience.
