DDK, which secured the first Overseas Taiwanese Business Gold Award, has become the go-to brand for cycling enthusiasts worldwide due to its innovative products. Joy Sung, co-founder of DDK, says: "More than 80% of cyclists suffer from perineal compression due to prolonged riding, which significantly impacts comfort and performance."

To address this issue, Sung emphasizes that selecting the wrong seat can lead to problems such as poor blood circulation and nerve compression. “Even a Ubike with a 90-degree riding posture relies on the sitting bones to support the body weight. The award-winning seat design was inspired by the need to optimize rider comfort.”

Dual-foam technology

The DDK R&D team uses a new patented dual-foam technology, combining memory foam and support foam. This innovation focuses on the sit bone memory point, allowing riders to quickly find the optimal seating position. Once the sit bone is correctly positioned, high-elastic foam supports the rider's weight, enhancing both pedaling performance and overall comfort.

In response to the growing popularity of e-bikes, the DDK team introduced a patented shock-absorbing bottom shell. “The double shock-absorbing design reduces the amplitude of speed transmission while riding,” Sung explains. “By reducing the pressure on the rider's ischial bone, blood oxygen levels increase, instantly enhancing riding comfort.”

ESG green manufacturing

DDK is the first company in the bike seat market to have five international certifications: ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SA 8000, and ISO 14064-1. The company is deeply committed to sustainable development, aligning with global trends in energy conservation and carbon reduction by promoting a green manufacturing chain. DDK uses eco-friendly, recyclable materials and maintains in-house production processes to minimize the risk of producing harmful substances.

Greenhouse Gas Protocol

To further reduce its carbon footprint, DDK has implemented rooftop solar power generation in its production facilities. Additionally, its overseas factories in Vietnam utilize sewage reactors to manage the challenges of the rainy and dry seasons. The DDK Group has all factories located in China, Vietnam or Taiwan, it refers to and formulates the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG protocol) to carry out systematic greenhouse gas emission inventories and inventory construction to fully understand the status of greenhouse gas emissions.

Sung: “The entire universe is asking us to live humbly and restore the balance between humans, nature, society, science, the economy, and the future. For DDK, sustainable development also involves a deep self-reflection of our corporate soul. We must use the key in our hands to unlock our determination to practice sustainability.”
