BAD SODEN, Germany - The safety standards for bicycles are being globalized. It is the result of a long term discussion between industry stakeholders, test-houses and experts from universities in Europe, America and Asia. On September 1, 2015 the first ISO 4210-2 has been published. This is the safety standard for City-/Trekking-/MTB/Road- and Young Adult bikes.

BAD SODEN, Germany - Like with regular bicycles also the safety standards for e-bikes are being globalized. However, as the ones for bicycles are already in force the global standards for electric bikes still have a long way to go before they are there. The question is also which e-bike categories are to be covered by the new ISO standards?

According to the latest statistics of the Taiwan Bicycle Association (TBA), the industry is recovering after several years of declining export.

MADRID, Spain - Close to 1.1 million bikes were sold in Spain last year. According to the 'Bicycle 2014' study by AMBE, the national association of manufacturers, importers and distributors in Spain, the number represented a 5.2% growth in unit sales. Consumption of cycling products grew bigger and even outperformed sales of all other sports categories.
