With an increased production capacity and a new product line, the Aveiro based firm now wants to further expand its business field. The target: cargo bikes and their wheels.

New player adds competition to the belt drive market

FRANKFURT, Germany - The demand for e-bikes with a belt drive system is growing. Although Gates Carbon Drive has a sizeable share of the existing market, there are now gaps for newcomers to enter the market. One of these is Yung Fang Plastic Co. CHICAGO, US - Component manufacturer, SRAM, is extending its presence in the Italian market by opening a new Technical Service Support Centre. Developed in partnership Italian distributer Beltrami TSA the new service centre will be fully operational as of January 1, 2023. A new distribution deal with Accell will also begin next year.

Cerurim focuses on close to market rim and wheel production

DEVA, Romania - Cerurim srl is a Romanian component manufacturer located on the site of bicycle assembler Eurosport DHS. According to Eurosport DHS co-founder Xi Yang, the unnamed Chinese investors behind this alloy rim and wheel producer once made a visit to DHS - "and liked what they saw here."

Rodi invests €18 million in new wheels and rims factory

AVEIRO, Portugal - Rodi Industries has started the construction of a new production facility for its cycling business, which will be completed by the end of this year. The new factory will not only allow for the optimisation of the flow and production capacity, but will also lead to the installation of a new anodizing line, which will improve the quality of the products and open the door to the production of other bicycle and e-bike related products.
