Kross sales booming but supply chain issues limit success

PRZASNYSZ, Poland - The country's largest bicycle manufacturer Kross kept its production running through March and April despite supply chain constraints and staff lay-offs. Dorel reports strong sales despite on-going supply constraints

MONTREAL, Canada - Dorel Industries Inc. reports a spike in demand for all types of bicycles during the second quarter of 2020. For the owner, sales of brands such as Schwinn, Mongoose and Cannondale rose dramatically and was maintained throughout the quarter.

Cambodia accelerates bicycle exports in 2020

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia - Data from Cambodia's customs department indicate that the country exported 1.1 million bicycles to the European Union in the first half of this year. The bicycle exports were valued at €205 million between January and July.

Interest in e-bikes reaches record levels

European industry reports 60% surge in e-bike production

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The production of pedal assist e-bikes in Europe is growing at fast pace: from 2018 to 2019 the surge, in units, amounts to almost 60%. This was reported by the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry (CONEBI) in their annual report. Compared with 2018, the 2019 production of bicycles and e-bikes combined increased by 11%, showing the big impact of the e-bike boom.

Cargo bike boom in Europe, over 50% market growth forecast

BERLIN, Germany - The EU-funded CityChangerCargoBike project has released key results of the first European Cargo Bike Industry Survey. 38 cargo bike brands contributed data anonymously, revealing many positives for Europe's cargo bike industry including an expected market growth of 53% in 2020.

French rediscover the bicycle, study shows

PARIS, France - The French bicycle market has recorded huge growth since May 11th, the date that lockdown ended in France, a recent study on bicycle use shows. Sales increased by 117% between May 12th and June 12th, according to the French Union Sport & Cycle organisation. Even though bicycle inventories are running low, the French government is increasing its financial support for cycling.
