BRUSSELS, Belgium - The production of pedal assist e-bikes in Europe is growing at fast pace: from 2018 to 2019 the surge, in units, amounts to almost 60%. This was reported by the Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry (CONEBI) in their annual report. BERLIN, Germany - The EU-funded CityChangerCargoBike project has released key results of the first European Cargo Bike Industry Survey. 38 cargo bike brands contributed data anonymously, revealing many positives for Europe's cargo bike industry including an expected market growth of 53% in 2020.
PARIS, France - The French bicycle market has recorded huge growth since May 11th, the date that lockdown ended in France, a recent study on bicycle use shows. Sales increased by 117% between May 12th and June 12th, according to the French Union Sport & Cycle organisation. Even though bicycle inventories are running low, the French government is increasing its financial support for cycling.
