Giant Group's Q1 results decline due to high inventory levels

Cycle Show reveals UK e-bike market is gaining momentum

LONDON, UK - Despite literal bumps in the road, the UK e-bike market is on the rise, according to industry representatives present at the Cycle Show held in London this April. Dealers, manufacturers and newcomers alike agree on one thing, a lack of infrastructure is slowing the market. Despite this, and the slow-adoption of e-bikes compared to the rest of Europe, the UK is considered by some to be "the most exciting market in terms of growth opportunities."

Strong begin to 2023 as Portuguese bike production rises 21%

AGUEDA, Portugal - The Portuguese two wheel and soft mobility sector registered a 21.68% increase in export in January, compared to the same period in 2022, data released by the National Statistics Institute of Portugal (INE) shows. The value of bicycle and component exports is also continuing to break records.

'Macroeconomic turbulence' weighs on bike business of Signa Sports

BERLIN, Germany - The past fiscal year was "a year of two halves," for German e-commerce retail giant Signa Sports United (SSU). "We were able to meaningfully increase our scale through acquisitions before being affected by the macroeconomic turbulence," explains CEO Stephan Zoll on release of the FY2022 results.

Timyo CEO: "We are not just a simple assembler"

ROOSENDAAL, the Netherlands - Timyo, the international group manufacturing mid to high-end e-bikes under the brands Van Dijck, Keola and Muon, has high ambitions. Having already established a solid dealer base in Europe, a market entrance in North America is now underway and sights are set on bringing high quality e-bikes to the US. "Our goal is to have 200,000 sales of high-end e-bikes by 2026," Timyo CEO Steve Zhu tells Bike Europe.

GreenMo goes bankrupt as e-mobility market growth misjudged

WAARDENBURG, the Netherlands - GreenMo Group, which leases e-bikes and electric scooters to prominent delivery outlets in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria and England has been declared bankrupt. According to the trustee, the company misjudged the growth opportunities.
