German ZIV Meeting Confirms Presidium and Executive Board

BERLIN, Germany - The members of Europe's largest bicycle industry association, the 'Zweirad Industry Verband' (ZIV) in Germany elected a new presidium and executive board. The election was part of the association's general meeting held recently in Berlin.

ZIV Adds 45 km/h E-Bike Components to Replacement Guidelines

BERLIN, Germany - To provide an insight for retailers on what's permitted or not when exchanging CE approved 25 km/h e-bike components in their workshops, the German industry associations agreed on an uniform guideline in 2015. This list is now also available for 45 km/h speed pedelecs as well.

EU Standard for E-Bike Batteries Published

The European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization has published the European standard EN 50604-1:2016.

German Market Grows in All Segments

BERLIN, Germany -Thanks to the growing popularity of the e-bike, the German bicycle market is in pretty good condition. In 2014 the market volume increased by 8% while 2015 showed a 6.6% growth to 4,350,000 units, reported the national industry association ZIV.

German Bike Market Shows Growth in All Segments

BERLIN, Germany - The 2015 sales statistics presented this morning by industry association ZIV show that the German bike market performed outstandingly. Cycling has become a popular again in Germany resulting in an increase in sales and production of bicycles, e-bikes, parts and components on the home market as well as in export.
