SEG Automotive and start-up Octagon form a dynamic partnership

SEG Automotive, a leader in the automotive industry, supplies e-machines that power over 300 million vehicles globally. Building on its successful entry into the e-bike sector, the German company has partnered with the dynamic start-up Octagon to develop innovative system solutions. The first product of this collaboration is the evolution of the Kreutzer motor, a mid-engine system with automatic shifting that blends comfort and performance, designed for premium and performance-oriented e-bikes.

Leveraging SEG Automotive’s century-long expertise in e-machine manufacturing and Octagon’s agile development and integration capabilities, the Kreutzer motor weighs under 2.5kg. The compact mid-engine ensures optimal frame integration and offers peak power of 600W with up to 400% maximum support.

  • Durability and Reliability: Built for long-term use and flexible integration with a range of components.
  • Silent Operation: The motor operates quietly, enhancing rider comfort without sacrificing performance.

First series application

The first e-bike to feature this new drive system will be the Kronos by VanDijck, a high-end model from the Dutch premium brand, set to launch in Summer 2025. The Kronos will be aimed at riders seeking advanced technology, performance, and sustainability.
