    Trek faces major recall costs as coaster brake defect reaches Europe

    WATERLOO, United States - American bike manufacturer Trek has issued a massive recall and "cease ride" warning in North America, with over 75,000 bicycles affected. Additionally, a Trek spokesperson told Bike Europe that 2,196 bicycles delivered to European retailers have been affected. Executing the recall will place substantial financial pressure on the company's service and support network.

    Bosch launches new e-bike ABS system which is available this summer

    REUTLINGEN, Germany - The launch of Bosch's new ABS system for e-bikes has been long awaited. Incorrect braking is seen as one of the main causes of accidents. "The front wheel brake on a bicycle is crucial for a short braking distance," says Claus Fleischer, CEO of Bosch eBike Systems. The new Bosch e-bike ABS with brake components from Magura will be available from this summer.
