The company made substantial investments to improve operations and production processes, in order to answer faster to the increasing demand. The market reacted very well to the novelties launched by the company this year.
Electric range performed best
The electric range performed best with an increase of 23 percent in the sales of e-city and e-folding models, compared to 2018. This is the result of a worldwide trend: environmental awareness leads people to choose ecological means of transport, for example e-bicycles. Devron Europe quickly noted this trend and took immediate action by widening its e-bike range with models designed to make life easier for urban commuters. Two of them have been recently presented at EICMA 2019, Devron 20201 and Devron 16201. The fair has been a huge success for the brand, and drove visitors towards the factory and the Italian headquarter.
Need for customization
Another current trend that the company managed to anticipate on was the need for customization. People are looking for extreme personalization in everything they buy and they want their bicycle to be unique as well. Devron Europe is able to meet this trend as 80 percent of its production is bespoke.
OEM projects
In 2019 the company saw an increase in the demand for OEM projects. Despite the fact that a tailored bike is more commonly sold in European countries like Germany, Belgium or Holland, the sales volume is also expanding in Italy. That is why Devron Europe is planning to increase the production of custom-made bicycles in this country next year.
New challenges and opportunities
Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, United Kingdom, Spain and Poland were the countries which performed better in 2019. The company also successfully entered the Portuguese market. 2020 will surely bring new challenges and opportunities for Devron Europe, but the company is making the right choices.
